Obituary for Harald Fricke |
||||
| On June 20th, 2012, Harald Fricke passed away. Born in 1949, he studied at the University of Göttingen, where he received his Dr.phil. in Philosophy in 1976 and afterwards became Professor of German Linguistics and Literature. Since 1984 he worked and taught in Fribourg, Switzerland. He was a member of the Akademie der Wissenschaften zu Göttingen and Editor-in-Chief of the Reallexikon der deutschen Literaturwissenschaft. His contributions to fundamental questions in literary studies and their relation to linguistic and philosophical topics shaped our current conception of literary theory. JLT had the pleasure of having Harald Fricke on the journal's advisory board. He will be sadly missed. | ||||
